Terms, Privacy & Cookie Policy

Please read these policies carefully before engaging our services

1. Definitions

"Client" refers to the individual or organisation engaging F13 Security for products and/or services.

"F13 Security" refers to the service provider supplying and installing CCTV and associated systems.

"Agreement" refers to the signed acceptance of the quote provided, including these terms and conditions.

2. Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required upon acceptance of the quote. The remaining 50% is due on the day of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment must be made via bank transfer. Late payments may incur a 5% monthly interest charge. All equipment remains the property of F13 Security until full payment is received.

3. Scope of Work

The scope of work is based on a visual assessment at the time of quotation. Any unforeseen installation complications (e.g. hidden pipework, access restrictions) may result in additional charges. Any variations or additions must be confirmed in writing and may affect the total cost.

4. Installation

The client is responsible for ensuring that all areas where work is to be carried out are accessible and safe. F13 Security will take reasonable care during installation but is not liable for unavoidable cosmetic damage during cable routing or drilling unless due to negligence. Power and network connectivity must be provided by the client unless specifically included in the quote.

5. Warranty

All equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty (typically 12 months). F13 Security offers a 12-month workmanship guarantee from the date of installation. The warranty does not cover misuse, tampering, third-party interference, or damage due to electrical faults, weather events, or vandalism.

6. Support & Maintenance

Post-installation support includes basic training on system use. Ongoing maintenance or call-outs outside the warranty period may be subject to additional charges. Optional service plans are available and can be quoted separately.

7. Data Protection Compliance

It is the client's responsibility to ensure their use of CCTV systems complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). This includes registering with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), where required, and displaying appropriate signage. F13 Security accepts no liability for the client's non-compliance with data protection laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

F13 Security is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage that occurs despite the installation of security systems. Under no circumstances shall liability exceed the total amount paid by the client for the work undertaken. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Cancellations

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation date. Deposits may be non-refundable if significant costs have already been incurred.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
